German born artist, designer, and educator, Cordula C. Peters has been living and working in the United States for nine years before moving to the United Arab Emirates. After graduating from High School in Germany she left her parents’ home in Munich to moved to America to go to college. Going to art school was a whole new experience for Cordula. Although her major was Fine Arts with a concentration in sculpture and installation work, she also studied printmaking and photography. While in college she worked at the New Media Center and developed an interest in computer arts. After graduating with her BFA Cordula started teaching computer classes at a local college in Boston and worked as a freelance graphic designer. She continued her education and in 2004 received her M.A. Shortly after her graduation she moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE to take on a teaching position at a local women’s college. In the UAE Cordula teaches graphic design to young Emirati women. She is also currently working on her doctoral thesis investigating the challenges the field of education, especially higher education, faces in a globalised world.
