About

Craig Jin received the MS degree in applied physics from Caltech, Pasadena, California in 1991 and his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia in 2001. He is a Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney and recently finished an ARC Queen Elizabeth II Fellowship. He is the Director of the Computing and Audio Research Laboratory at the University of Sydney and also a co-founder of three start-up companies: VAST Audio Pty Ltd, Personal Audio Pty Ltd, and Heard Systems Pty Ltd. His research focuses on spatial audio and bioelectronic engineering and he is the author or co-author of more than 85 journal or conference papers in these areas and holds eight patents. He has received recognition in Australia (April 2005, Science in Public Fresh Innovators Program) for his invention of a spatial hearing aid. He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society, the Acoustical Society of America, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
