I joined the Department at Loughborough in 2007 from the Department of Politics, University of Bristol where I had been an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Post-Doctoral Fellow and Visiting Lecturer. I have a BA (Hons) in History and Politics from the University of Exeter and an MSc with Distinction in International Relations from the University of Bristol. I was awarded a PhD in Politics by Rhodes University, South Africa.
