About

I am from a small Cape Breton, N.S. community called Inverness where my family works in the fishing industry. I have always had an interest in human impacts on the environment through our economic pursuits, including: fishing, mining, and most recently, agriculture. My research to date has looked at modeling the effect of temperature and accumulated fishing time on the catch rate of lobsters during a Spring fishery, modeling carbon mineralization from soil amended with organic residues, and the impacts of land application of alkaline-stabilized biosolids on soil properties and organic contaminant concentrations in soil.
