I was born in Mexico, City and lived in many cities around Mexico before moving alone to Barcelona, Spain, to pursue a B.Sc. in Biology at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. After my studies a worked as a research assistant at the Pharmacology Department of the Faculty of Medicine at the same university. At the same time I did a M.Sc. in Neuroscience at the Universidad de Barcelona, after which I started working as a PhD student at the Centre for Brain and Cognition in the Universidad Pompeu Fabra. 4 years later I finished my PhD (May 2013) and after more than 1 year working as a freelance scientific consultant, I temporarily moved to Munich, Germany, where I worked as a Spanish teacher for 3 months. After 6 months living in Munich I moved to Osaka, Japan (March, 2015) to start working at the University of Osaka as a research assistant in the Immunology Frontier Research Center in collaboration with the Center for Information and Neural Networks.
