Research interests

and learningprofessional learningand specifically cognitionI am interested in applying social science research methods to the practice of meteorology in general

Initially majoring in physics in college, I moved to atmospheric sciences for my master's work and began my career journey at NASA's Langley Research Center. I loved the working environment, but not the subjects I researched, so my career journey continued. I moved to Norman, Okla. in 1995 to pursue severe weather research and eventually added outreach to my job. That led me to begin the doctorate in adult education that I have almost completed. I now consider myself a social scientist/educator, specializing in professional learning & development, and the application of social science research methods to the practice of meteorology.
