Dario Puppi received from the University of Pisa a Laurea Degree in Chemical Engineering (2005) and a PhD in Biomaterials (2009). He obtained the Habilitation as Associate Professor according to the Italian National Scientific Habilitation procedure (ASN) in the scientific sectors: i) 03/B2 - Principles of Chemistry for Applied Technologies (2013), and ii) 03/C2 - Industrial Chemistry (2017) . During his PhD, Dario Puppi was visiting researcher in different foreign universities, including Tampere University of Technology (Tampere, Finland), Chalmers University (Gothenburg, Sweden), Kroto Research Institute (Sheffield, UK) and 3B’s Research Group (Braga, Portugal). Since 2004 he has been working on the design, fabrication and characterization of polymeric systems for biomedical applications, with a particular interest in the development of innovative fabrication techniques for the processing of polymeric materials into micro- nano-structured constructs. Within this area, his research activity has been focused mainly on the study of processing parameters and on the development of new technologies concerning various fabrication techniques, such as electrospinning, rapid prototyping techniques and inversion phase techniques. He is co-author of more than forty scientific papers published in high-impact international journals, five book chapters, three patents and several oral contributions at international conferences.
