    Darrell is a global executive and has extensive experience in the strategic development of new and existing business; sales and marketing, staff development and relationship management. His expertise is in Turnaround Management, Strategic Planning, Consultative Sales and Multi-Cultural leadership. He is the EVP / Chief Marketing Officer for Collexis Holdings, Inc. Collexis is a semantic search and knowledge discovery software company. He is responsible for the corporate strategy, business development and marketing to support the company’s strategic objectives. Previously, Darrell was the Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing for the Americas marketplace for Elsevier. Elsevier is a world-leading publisher of print and electronic science, technical and medical journals with offices in New York, Amsterdam, Singapore, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro. Over his eleven year tenure he led the development and growth of Elsevier’s first commercial sales organization and moving the customer print base to long term electronic agreements. Prior to Elsevier he worked for Dow Jones Financial News Services and worked his way up in the company from Account Manager in 1983 to National Sales Director in 1996. While National Sales Director, he shepparded the company through three record years and introduced the Consultative Sales approach. He grew the organization by 100%, opening several regional sales offices in the United States and he introduced the Account Development program and was a key member of the senior management that introduced a new pricing program that addressed several competitive threats in the market place. From 1981-1983 Darrell worked for Xerox Corporation, as a Marketing Representative and he served on the New Product Launch committee which launched the very successful 2830 desktop copier. He is a graduate from Seton Hall University with a BS in Business Administration in 1981 before going on to receive his MBA at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 1991. He also achieved his CTM (Competent Toast Master) badge with Toastmasters International. In May of 2008 he received the Seton Hall University, University Libraries Alumni Service Award. Darrell has professional affiliations with the following organizations, Software Information Industry Association (SIIA); Society of Scholarly Publishers; Association of American Publishers / PSP Division; Medical Library Association; American Library Association; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a board member & Chairmen of the Board for the Women’s Venture Fund, board member of the Content Board for the SIIA and Seton Hall University Advisory Council. He is also an alumnus of the Advisory Board for Double7 Film LLC.
