David Evans has been facilitating learning in sexual health and HIV studies, to health and social care professionals, since 1990. He has presented at numerous conferences across the UK and abroad and published widely, especially for a nursing audience. Formal research has focused on social representations of HIV and AIDS in post registration nurse education (MPhil) and on sexual health education and learning for nurses in England (Doctorate in Education). David is a full time senior lecturer in sexual health, coordinating some of the e-learning sexual health courses at the University of Greenwich, especially the Sexual Health Skills course, which he developed and managed for the Royal College of Nursing 2004-2009. He has also authored some of the e-learning modules in the free "Sexual Reproductive and Mental Health" course, hosted by the Social Care Institute for Excellence ( This course, co-authored with Professor Kathryn Abel (women's psychological medicine; project lead) and Dr Roxane Agnew-Davies (Director, Domestic Violence Training Ltd.) achieved the "finalist" status in the UK Sexual Health Awards (adult project category) 2012. David hopes to develop an assignment for this course, at the University of Greenwich, enabling professionals in sexual or mental health to undertake the FREE course, then "challenge assignment" at Greenwich, to obtain academic credits for their learning.
