Currently holds an Interaction Design Professorship at Tallinn University where he heads the university's Interaction Design Laboratory as well as the international master program on Interactive Media and Knowledge Environments. At Tallinn University he also leads and participates in national and international research projects. He also tutors several master and doctoral level students as well as post-doc researchers.
Concluded his post-doc research at Michigan State University as a member of the team developing the Mobile Infosphere at the Media Interfaces & Network Design Laboratory.
Holds a PhD degree in Computer Sciences by Portsmouth University, United Kingdom, and a MSc degree in Computer Sciences by Universidade do Minho, Portugal. Graduated as "Licenciado em Informática/Matemáticas Aplicadas" (Informatics/Applied Mathematics) in 1989 at Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique, Portugal.
Formerly an Associate Professor at Instituto Piaget, Portugal, lecturing post-graduation level seminars and graduation level courses mainly at Universidade Jean Piaget de Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) Universidade Jean Piaget de Moçambique (Mozambique) and tutoring master and doctoral level students.
Also has experience in higher education management having held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Universidade Jean Piaget de Cabo Verde as well as the position of Rector at Universidade Jean Piaget de Moçambique, where he was a member of the task force launching some initiatives of Instituto Piaget in Africa.
