I am an academic medical-health librarian working at UBC within an academic health and teaching centre at the Vancouver Hospital in Vancouver Canada. I manage the UBC Biomedical Branch Library at the Diamond Centre and teach information skills, systematic review searching and other topics within the UBC Faculty of Medicine. I teach full courses at the UBC School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (SLAIS), sometimes at the UBC School of Population and Public Health (SPPH) and Langara College's Library and Information program. I won the 2017 CHLA/ABSC Margaret Ridley Charlton Award for Outstanding Achievement and the UBC iSchool Mary Sue Stephenson Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2018, I retired one of the largest librarian wikis in the world, HLWIKI (archived: to pursue my research into more efficient searching for research syntheses and reviews.
