About

I have recently completed my PhD thesis at Loughborough University where I critically examined the theory of the Arabic public sphere and empirically explored its relevance to understanding citizenship in Jordan today. As a post-doc on the OECUMENE project, I aim to further explore how politics is performed and citizenship enacted in the Arabic cultural public sphere, by recognising how regional dramatic and literary traditions can be understood as sites of intervention and disputation through which participants constitute themselves as political subjects.
