About

Denis Drechsler is a Project Manager at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. He currently oversees project activities of the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS). Before assuming this position in 2012, Denis coordinated the policy brief series of FAO’s Economic and Social Development Department. He is the author of several articles and papers on development, especially focusing on issues related to food security, migration and informal employment. Prior to joining FAO in 2009, Denis was a policy analyst and outreach coordinator at the OECD Development Centre where he helped launch Wikigender and create the Social Institutions and Gender Index (SIGI). Other employments include consultancies for the World Bank, the German Parliament, and the European Institute for International Economic Relations. Denis completed his graduate studies in political science and economics at Potsdam University, the Institute d'Etudes Politiques de Grenoble and the University of Wisconsin.
