Dr Dimitrios Patsos has been serving as a services manager, security consultant and security architect for leading Greek PKI & IT security companies since 1999, dealing with various aspects of Information Security with a strong emphasis on the financial institutions & the public sector in Greece, Southeastern Europe and the Middle East. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Security from the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus, Greece. He received his B.Sc. in Informatics from the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 2001 and his M.Sc. in Information Security from the Department of Mathematics of the Royal Holloway University of London, UK, in 2002. His main research interests include incident response, security management, cryptography, PKI, network security, and electronic crime. Among his research work, he has supervised a large number of graduate and undergraduate theses for Greek and UK universities. He has co-authored one of the first greek books in information security that is now a text-book in leading greek universities, while his published work includes original research works in international scientific journals (including Elsevier), international conference proceedings (including IEEE, PCI), and invited talks. Dimitrios is holder of a large number of professional certifications, a honorary member in the permanent scientific committee on Industry and Standardization of the Greek Computer Society (EPY) and a permanent member of EPY.
