A board-certified neurosurgeon, Dr. J. Michael Calhoun practices at Arkansas Surgical Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. His areas of focus include spinal disorder treatment and surgeries of the spinal cord and surrounding nerves encompassing the cervical and lumbar areas of the spine. Dr. J. Michael Calhoun employs the Micro Endoscopic Discectomy (MED) system when undertaking lumbar fusion procedures.
Dr. Calhoun is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and contributes to his community by offering educating the public regarding diseases and current surgical techniques. He supports a number of local nonprofit organizations as well, including the Arkansas Food Bank and the Centers for Youth and Family, and he is active with the Chambers of Commerce of Sherwood and North Little Rock. A graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Calhoun also completed his residency training in neurosurgery at the same institution. Dr. J.
