About

Efraín Domínguez is an Associate Professor (Hydrology, Hydroclimatology, Environmental Mathematical Modelling and Applied Stochastic Processes) at the School of Environmental and Rural Studies at Javeriana University, Bogotá - Colombia. Before, he was an Associate Professor (River Hydraulics) at the National University of Colombia and also researcher at the Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales (IDEAM). He received his Bachelor Degree (Hydrology), his Diploma (M.Sc. in Hydrometeorological Ecology) and his Doctorate (Ph.D. in Hydrology), from the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (Saint Petersburg, Russia). From 1998-2000 he leaded the Nationwide Water Assessment for Colombia at IDEAM, where he also contributed to the Colombian First National Report on Climate Change. In 2010 built water pressure indicators at several scales and under different climate change scenarios for Colombia. As a member of the Research Center CeiBA-Complejidad he is recipient, in 2011, of the Outstanding Research Group Award of the Ministry of Education of Colombia. In the same year also received an honorable mention in the Biannual Research Prize at Javeriana University. He is member of the AGU, EGU and IAHS organizations. His research interests include water resources assessment, uncertainty assessment, hydrological forecasting, monitoring network design, climate change, mathematical environmental modelling and applied stochastic modelling.
