Elizabeth is an epidemiologist who worked for many years in HIV surveillance and prevention, principally in Asia. She is now based in London, is founder of the public health consultancy Ternyata, and senior adviser to the Wellcome Trust on issues related to public health research in developing countries. She holds an honorary senior lecturship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She lectures at a wide variety of other institutions ranging from Harvard, Princeton and MIT to Oxford, Cambridge and the Royal Tropical Institute.
