About

Elsa Caetano is Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Dept. of Civil Eng. of Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. With background in Structural Dynamics, her main research interests are: -Cable-stayed bridges; Cable vibrations and control; Wind studies of bridges and special structures;; Identification of civil structures; Damage detection; Health monitoring; New sensors; Pedestrian induced vibrations in footbridges. In the context of research and consultancy activities, Elsa Caetano has participated in the dynamic testing of diverse structures, as Humber Bridge, Millau Viaduct, Vasco da Gama Bridge and the Olympic Stadium for London 2012. She has been involved in the dynamic monitoring of several structures and conducted dynamic design studies for special structures. She has published more than 200 papers in journals and conferences and authored the book “Cable Vibrations in Cable-stayed Bridges”, published by IABSE (SED 9) and translated into Chinese in 2012.
