    Raised in Detroit, Emery Matthews has remained in the city as a business leader, real estate professional, and attorney. Presently, Matthews oversees Real Estate Interests, LLC, and assists commercial property owners, occupiers, and investors in managing their holdings. This firm advises entities about reducing their real estate risks by guiding them through every step of property ownership. The services offered by Emery Matthews range from property and facility management to asset management and distressed asset services. Each option covers a different area of commercial responsibilities so that clients can better invest, negotiate, and finance their assets. To prepare for his career, Matthews graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in marketing. Subsequently, he concurrently earned a master of business administration from Harvard Business School and a juris doctor from Harvard Law School. After working as a sales executive, Emery Matthews entered the real estate field through Hines Interests, LP. As a project manager and director of leasing, he handled transactions that involved more than 3.5 million square feet of office space. He garnered international commercial real estate experience as chief investment officer of MayfieldGentry Realty Advisors & PPM-Global, which served a some key Chinese clients. Prior to founding his current company, Matthews held the position of Director of Institutional Services and Head of Asset Management with Signature Associates Cushman & Wakefield, which also functions as a strategic partner with Real Estate Interests. Moreover, he is fluent in German and a degree candidate in Chinese (Mandarin).
