About

My main research interest is the reconstruction of past environmental variability through geochemistry of biogenic carbonates. The focus of my current research is on the stable isotope composition of earthworm secreted calcite granules, with the aim to construct a new terrestrial palaeo-environment thermometer. Recent research has included: Bivalve nitrogen isotope composition recording human impact. Bivalve shell chemistry as a meltwater proxy in the Arctic. Freshwater bivalve oxygen isotope compositions as archives of past floods and droughts. The construction of bivalve growth models using seasonal stable isotope fluctuations in the shell. Stable carbon isotope chemistry of bivalves.
