About

I am a biomedical informatician and researcher focused on improving perinatal health outcomes in high-risk populations. For more than 10 years I have demonstrated motivation and leadership while establishing a record of productive team science. My research expertise includes geospatial and cost analyses, as well as the development of risk models to identify patients at highest risk for adverse outcomes. I currently lead data management and integration supporting research and quality improvement within the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Perinatal Institute. Additionally, I lead the implementation of a population-based maternal and infant “data hub.” The data hub integrates regional maternal and child health data originating from hospital electronic health records, vital records, geospatially-based measures from the American Communities Survey and other public data resources, as well as measures collected by community-based programs to facilitate analyses of high-risk perinatal populations. I am also the director of data analysis and management for Cradle Cincinnati, a collective impact collaborative to reduce infant mortality in Hamilton County, Ohio. While my principal focus is preterm birth and infant mortality reduction, my interests extend to other high-risk maternal and child populations including those affected by withdrawal following in-utero exposure to narcotics. Prior efforts have led to the dissemination of methodologies for linking population data sets and novel analyses of at-risk perinatal populations.
