Research interests


Erik Hekman (1982) currently works as a PhD candidate at the faculty of Communication and Journalism at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht). The majority of his job consists of doing research for the Research Group Cross media Content, Business Models and Policy New Media ( lead by Harry van Vliet. His main research topics are social media, value creation, cross media and digital cultural heritage. He also works as a lecturer for the studies Digital Communication (DC) and International Communication and Media (ICM) where he is responsible for courses such as Web Design, Media Research, Media Economics and Media Trends. His educational background consists of a bachelor degree in Information and Communication Technology (B.ICT) at the University op Applied Sciences Arnhem and Nijmegen (Hogeschool Arnhem en Nijmegen) and a masters degree in Media Technology at the Leiden University (MSc).
