I am a Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences of the University of Essex, UK. I strive to combine fundamental questions in ecology and evolution with pragmatic questions and technological applications in environmental sciences. My research includes the effect of CO2 on phytoplankton, the distribution of extreme tolerant microorganisms, industrial ecology and evolution and metaknowledge in ecology.
