I am a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Lisbon and a Ph.D. student at the University of Minho (ETC Jan 2016). My research explores how the interaction structure of populations impacts the dynamical processes they support such as disease spreading, diffusion of ideas or the evolution of behaviours. In particular I have been interested in quantifying the role of population structure in the evolution of Cooperation in Social and Biological systems. In that context my work have resulted in the publication of 10 journal articles and 4 conference proceedings, which have been cited over 200 times. During this period I have also contributed as a referee to journals in the fields ofPhysics (Physical Review Letters,Physica A and Physical Review E) and Computational Biology(PLOS Computational Biology,JRS Interface and Journal of Theoretical Biology). I am interested in the computational/mathematical modelling of social systems and in the analysis of complex datasets with the aim of exploring questions that lie at the interface between Complex Systems and DataScience.
