Francesco Faita was born on June, 28, 1973 in La Spezia (Italy). In 2001 he graduated from Università degli Studi di Pisa obtaining the degree of Electronic Engineer. Since 2001, he has been working as a research fellow at the Institute of Clinical Physiology of the Italian National Research Council. His main research interests lie in Computer Vision, in particular in the field of ultrasound image motion estimation. A major focus of his research in the last years has been development of clinically applicable automated techniques for cardiovascular analysis and prediction of disease progression. He is author or co-author of 36 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings.
