I am an Assistant Professor in International Relations. I obtained his PhD in political science from Sciences Po (Paris) and Northwestern University (Chicago). Prior to my appointment at Leiden University, I was a Research Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London (2008-2009). My dissertation examined the diaspora politics of the war in Yugoslavia (1991-1995), and more particularly the redefinition and government of “deterritorialised nations” through transnational practices of sovereignty. My research interests include diaspora politics, nationalism, citizenship, sovereignty, security and conflict in International Relations. I am a founding member of the c.a.s.e. collective, I am member of the editorial board of the journal Cultures & Conflits.
