I am currently working on two related projects:
Immersive Sounds: The aim of this study is the measurement of the degree of attention and emotional reactions that spherical sound systems generate in the subject, compared with the response of a listening through stereo sound systems. This study is part of a broader line of work aimed to study the emotional impact and the level of immersion in the development of activity generated through spherical sound.
Unconscious listening: Sound design for film, TV and video games has the ability to generate emotions that enhance the audience involvement and participation through the truthfulness pact, interactivity and semiconscious perception of sound. Despite the numerous studies on the sound in TV, film or video game, there is little specific work focused on the emotional impact of sound design. On the other hand, the possibility of "covertly influence" in the viewer involves an ethical dimension that has hardly been treated so far.
The unconscious listening project continues the researches initiated in previous works, especially from the design of a model for the analysis of emotional perception and interpretation of sound. The stated objectives are:
- Analyse physiologically (electro dermal response and brain electrical activity) the impact of sound design on attention and emotional response from the viewer.
- Start an online network of sound designers in which they can address the ethical dimension of sound design, from the results obtained in the field work.
- Apply sound design to the field of education, through educational digital narratives.
