Born in Los Angeles CA. Taught at UCLA and Cal-State University 1975-79, worked in San Diego CA 1979-86 for US Navy, worked in aerospace R&D 1986-92 in Denver CO prior to joining Battelle PNNL and moving to Pacific Northwest. At PNNL I lead cognitive informatics research area (www.pnl.gov/cogInformatics) and manage research projects in information analytics, predictive analytics, and training technology with applications in intelligence analysis, insider threat, cyber security, and electric power grid information visualization and decision making.
