About

Dr. Giovannino Silvestri received his B.S. in Pathological and Molecular Biology, from the University of Calabria in 2009, Italy. In 2012, he earned his Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of Verona, Italy, where he worked on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and phosphatases in the lab. of Dr. Claudio Sorio. In 2013, he joined the Chronic Myeloid Leukemia laboratory directed by Prof. Danilo Perrotti at University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) in Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, he is leading a project that focuses on the role of MicroRNAs as regulators of Stem and Progenitors Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Cells Function.
