About

I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Maryland School of Medicine. I earned my PhD degree from Koç University in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management program. I received my B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering with a double major in Computer Engineering, and the M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Eskisehir, Turkey, in 2007, 2008, and 2009, respectively. I received IBM PhD Fellowship award for the academic year 2013-2014. My dissertation deals with developing new exact and representation methods for multiobjective optimization problems. In the scope of my PhD thesis, I developed two exact algorithms for multiobjective discrete optimization problems which are about generating all nondominated solutions and computing the nadir point. In the second part of my thesis, I developed representation methods for multiobjective optimization problems. Currently, I am working on a data mining application. I am applying the representation methods on supported vector machine classification for imbalanced data sets. My research interests span various mathematical optimization problems. In particular, I have studied on multiobjective optimization, routing, and scheduling problems.
