About

My engineering experience is mainly as a student, studying and doing projects on the topics below. Through the various extra-curricular research projects I've been involved in, I've learned systems engineering skills in practice. I've also travelled to Egypt and England as part of these projects, gaining invaluable work experience in real, operational engineering contexts. My work with SHAWCO Education has been in teaching and leading other students in teaching various communities around the Cape Peninsula. Engineering thinking, particularly planning has been an extremely important part of my involvement in the organisation. The most important lesson learned from this work is that while there are many considerations in attempting to fix a social problem, there is never a good reason not to try. In an ideal world, I would find a career which uses advanced research and development to address social challenges.
