My general research area is in the mineral physics, with particular interest to the study of the chemical and physical properties of minerals under the ultra-high P and T conditions of the Earth’s deep mantle. My own research consists of determining the factors that affect phase equilibria and thermoelastic properties of Earth related materials at high-P,T with emphasis on the effect of cationic substitutions in Ca-rich silicates. So far, my work involved experimental (Multi-Anvil press, Diamond Anvil Cell), analytical (SEM, TEM, μ-XRD, synchrotron radiation: XRD, XAS) and theoretical approaches (Rietveld/Lebail refinement, ab initio calculation).
