About

The recent impact of nanotechnology combined with recent discoveries in molecular biology and renewable energy, has created a huge interest in the research of new materials with various technological applications. An interesting option is to make the use of nanomaterials, specifically photoactive nanoparticles, using their photochemical and photophysical characteristics in their interaction with other organic photoactive molecules to the development of biomolecular devices, molecular sensors, optical switches, and others. The field of nanoscience/nanotechnology, in this case, involves: 1) spectroscopy of molecules and their interaction with photons; 2) optical and spectroscopic properties of condensed matter; 3) photobiophysics and 4) organic photochemistry.
