About

My interests lie in studying viruses and utilising these elegant systems for beneficial purposes. I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Biopharming Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. My current focus is on the development of bluetongue virus vaccines. This is a change from my PhD project which centred on the development of a plant-made beak and feather disease virus vaccine together with an infectious molecular clone as a potential challenge model. I am currently a member of the International Society for Plant Molecular Farming and an associate student member of the American Society of Virology.
