I am a chartered librarian with over 25 years of experience in library and information management. Since March 2007 I have been at Mimas, a research department based at The University of Manchester. Mimas became part of Jisc in August 2014 now providing digital solutions for UK education and research. I have collaborated in a number of national and international projects investigating improved metadata usage within digitisation of resources in Higher Education and research. I am a member of the IRUS-UK service team providing authoritative standards-based analytics and usage data for librarians and repository managers to demonstrate and benchmark their value and impact. Prior to Mimas I worked for over 10 years in industry as Library and Information Manager for a blue chip international company. This included creating bespoke cataloguing and classification schemes as part of a professional information service. I also served on the UK national committee for a library management system for over six years. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) and have recently completed an Edexcel BTEC Diploma in Management and Leadership.
