About

Igor Pérez Tostado obtained his PhD on History and Civilization in the European University Institute in 2004. He held a Post-Doctoral position at the Moore Institute (NUI Galway) and since 2005 teaches and researches at the Early Modern History unit at the Pablo de Olavide University. He is at present working on a History of the Irish in the Spanish Caribbean and the relations between the Spanish Monarchy and the British Islands through the Early Modern Period, which special interest in the use of violence and stereotypes in creating those links. He is also interested on the making of borders in the early modern period, specially in the island of Hispaniola.
