Inês Bento Coelho (b. Lisbon, 1984) is a visual artist based in Glasgow. She graduated from an AHRC-funded MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (UAL), and was recently an Artist-in-Residence at Croydon College of Art, Croydon.
In 2012 she was nominated for the Red Mansion Art Prize and participated in the AIR Mini Residency led by AIR Studio. Over the years she participated in several exhibitions such as Between The World and Nothing (London); Interim Show, V22 (London); Summer Calling’11, 3+1 Gallery, (Lisbon, 2011); and 48min, Cambridge Changing Spaces, (Cambridge, 2009). She studied Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts Lisbon (2007).
Inês works mainly in installation and photography. She uses several media to explore the relationships between object, space and viewer. Her work focuses on the concept of space awareness and incorporates different perspectives about the space that surrounds us.
