    Ivan Thorley is a performance maker who specialises in movement, theatre, puppetry and technology. He has received commissions and funding for his independent work and has performed and collaborated with various artists, arts companies and independent projects locally, nationally and internationally. Ivan works in Dance Science and lectures in Performance Technology in the Graduate School at TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Ivan Thorley performed in Harminda Judge’s Do What Thou Wilt at the Barbican Pit as part of the Spill Festival of Performance April 2011. He presented a 2nd stage development of Ark Animalium at the ICA in London as part of Shunts live weekend in Feb 2011. Ivan completed an international tour of an animatronic/sound installation project called Birdmachine to the Laban Centre (London), HQ in Melbourne and to the Brisbane International Arts Festival, Australia in 2010. He performed Swan Song during the 2010 Puppet Grinder Cabaret at The Little Angel Theatre as part of the Hatch Festival, the Accidental Festival at BAC, the Resolution! Festival at The Place and at Shunt in 2010 and Bluecoat in Liverpool and Arnolfini in Bristol in 2009/08 (UK). He also presented the first stage development of the Roving Unicorns at Latitude Festival (UK) in July 10. Ivan has worked with Tom Marshman as a multimedia artist and performer at Arnolfini in Bristol and in London during 2008 and 09. He completed a 12-month Puppet Residency program with Puppet Centre Trust, The Little Angel Theatre and CSSD in 2009. He also participated in a three-month professional puppetry workshop with Philippe Genty and Mary Underwood in 2006 in Melbourne. Ivan worked with outdoor puppet companies Peepshow Inc (2004/07) and the Snuff Puppets (2006/07) in Melbourne, Australia and has toured internationally with Strange Fruit since 2002. Ivan was incubated for 12 months at the Meat Market through Arts House, to develop new dance and technology projects. He was also maximized by Chunky Move dance company in 2005. Ivan received commissions for projects in the 2002 and 2004 Next Wave Festivals.
