About

I have a PhD in Plant Biology from the University of Georgia with a research focus in bioinformatics development for the study of plant genome evolution. I have developed open source databases and software for the physical mapping of genomes, the annotation and analysis of sequenced genomes, and the study of gene family evolution. I am currently a postdoc with Jim Leebens-Mack at the University of Georgia where I am working in collaboration with iPlant on the development of a tree reconciliation database. We also work with a group of collaborators working toward the sequencing, assembly, and annotation of the Amborella genome.
