Jan B. Engelmann received an M.A. in Psychology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Brown University. His doctoral dissertation focused on the cognitive neuroscience of motivation-attention interactions. As a postdoctoral fellow in the Computation and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at Emory University, he pursued his interest in neuroeconomics by conducting experiments on the neurobiological basis of financial risk attitudes. As a senior postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory for Social and Neural Systems Research at the University of Zurich he investigated the neurobiological the role of emotion in social and economic choice. Currently, he is Radboud Excellence Fellow at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, where he is investigating the neural circuitry involved in emotion regulation.
