Jan Breitsohl was born in Bückeburg, Germany, in 1983. After 3 years in industry where he gained a diploma as Industrial Business Manager, Jan moved to the UK to pursue an academic career. He received a BScEcon in Business & Management from Aberystwyth University and a Masters with distinction in Consumer Psychology from Bangor University. His thesis focused on comparing brand images with self-images in the outdoor industry and his results were presented at international conferences. From 2009-2012 Jan did his Phd in marketing psychology which focused on complaint communication psychology. Since 2012 Jan has held lectureship positions in Marketing (E-marketing, Marketing Psychology) in Bangor and Aberystwyth University. He has conducted several experimental online surveys, established a research network with major national and international online retailers and acquired expertise in both statistical (SPSS, Mplus, Structural Equation Modelling) and conceptual (Mendeley, Sciplore, Qualtrics) research tools and techniques. In the future, Jan aims to publish his research in topacademic journals and pursue his career in academia. Jan’s personal interests resolve around Philosophy, Sports, Human Communication, Poetry and Depth.
