Jan Cabri, born in Brussels (Belgium), received his PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physical Therapy in 1989 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He was appointed associate professor in sports medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the aforementioned university in 1992. From 1996 to 2009 he was a visiting professor at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Human Movement Studies (Portugal), after which he was appointed from 2009 to 2014 as Head of the Department of Physical Performance at the Norwegian University of Sport and Physical Education (Norway). Currently he is a professor in biomechanics at that same department. His research interests are mainly applied (sports) biomechanics and kinesiologic electromyography. He is the Secretary of the Scientific Board of the European College of Sports Science and serves as Section editor in the European Journal of Sport Science.
