In 2001 I started a project to make English teaching and learning experiences more contextually and personally relevant for learners.
Through trial and error with groups of students we developed a system for teaching some new language and then facilitating immediate use of it with complete strangers on the streets of London.
Ten years and about 250,000 hours of teaching later we have a suite of digital teaching and learning materials that are uniquely flexible, effective and proven. English Out There is probably the first published social media English course because it not only works on the street but with social media like Facebook and Skype.
