About

Javier Munoz is Head of the Proteomics Unit at the Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) in Madrid, Spain, and has held this position since 2012. He joined Albert Heck's group (Utrecht University, The Netherlands) as a postdoctoral fellow in 2007, where he spent 5 years applying cutting-edge mass-spectrometry-based proteomics technologies to biological sciences. His primary focus is the study of stem cell biology and cancer using multi-disciplinary approaches, including proteomics, genomics and bioinformatics. His research is directed towards unravelling proteome dynamics and post-translational regulation processes that determine cellular identity and plasticity.
