About

Jean-Jacques Orban de Xivry was born in 1979 in Uccle (Belgium). In 1997, he entered the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). He became an Engineer in Applied Mathematics in 2002. His thesis was devoted to the study of predictive saccades during anticipation of a moving target. He then started a Ph. D. in the oculomotor research group at UCL under the supervision of Professor P. Lefèvre. From 2002 to 2007, he was a Ph. D student and research assistant at CESAME (Centre for Systems engineering and Applied Mechanics). In February 2008, he joined the laboratory of computational motor control headed by R. Shadmehr at Johns Hopkins University. His major interests focus on computational neuroscience, internal models and non-invasive brain stimulation technique.
