I have been working in the computer and software engineering fields for more than 30 years, as an analyst and project manager at the start of my career, and, most recently, as a software engineering consultant and professor. My scholarship includes two masters (Administration and Informatic) and a Ph.D. in cognitive science. As consultant, since 1987, the expertise I have developed was mainly in project management, specifically software measurement. I am since 2003 the Canadian representative at ISO SC/7 WG-6 (Quality measures) and most recently the editor of the Quality Measure Element standard (ISO/IEC 25021). I am also co-founder of COSMIC (1998) and co-author of the COSMIC functional measure method. I teached 4 years as full time professor (docent) at ÉTS (École de Technologie Supérieure) in Montreal, Canada. I still have a link with ÉTS as professor adjunct. In fall 2008 and winter 2009 I was Lecturer at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara at Master and Ph.D. level. Presently I am Senior Research Officer (TAM and Softlab) and Lecturer, at Master and Ph.D. level at Bogaziçi University in Istanbul. I have near a hundred publications (see GELOG website) in Software Engineering, and my experience as a consultant is in many countries around the world. I still continue doing consulting and give conference on demand.
