About

I graduated with as a Ph.D. from Kent State University in December 2010. I worked with Dr. J. David Glass and my dissertation research focused on utilizing microdialysis to characterize the in vivo release of several important neuropeptides in the biological clock. I started my postdoctoral research fellowship at the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy (NEOUCOM) in April 2011, where I will be investigating the circadian regulation of the Cyp7a1 gene. This gene product is the rate-limiting enzyme that controls bile acid synthesis in the liver. I will also be examining the effects nutritional content and timing of diet on the activity of Cyp7a1 and other genes.
