About

John Karlsrud is Senior Research Fellow at the Peace Operations Group and Manager for the Training for Peace programme at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). His research is focusing on peacekeeping, peacebuilding and humanitarian issues. He has a PhD from University of Warwick on the role of think tanks and academia in norm change, with a focus on UN peacekeeping. He has previously served as special assistant to the SRSG and strategic planning officer in the UN Mission to Chad and the Central African Republic (MINURCAT), and has done research and field work in Bosnia, Chad, Haiti, and South Sudan.
