John S Auerbach

    Through his private practice, John S. Auerbach, PhD, has provided psychological service in the Johnson City, Tennessee, area for some two decades. Since 1995, he has been serving as clinical psychologist at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee, where much of his work has focused on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Dr. John S Auerbach joined the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at East Tennessee State University in 1996 as clinical associate professor and became a full professor in 2002. Dr. John S. Auerbach has been connected with the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine since 1985 and is currently a research affiliate. From 1992 to 1996, he was an assistant clinical professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. John S. Auerbach earned his MA and PhD at the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, Connecticut. He graduated magna cum laude with an AB in psychology from Brown University.
