Johnny L. G. Nielsen (M09) was trained as an Electronics Technologist from Technology College Aalborg, Denmark in 1998 and worked until 2004 in R&D departments of hightech electronics companies within the telecommunication and defense industries, primarily designing automated test and verification systems. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He is currently a Marie Curie Fellow with the Strategic Technology Management of Otto Bock Healthcare Products GmbH, Vienna, Austria. Since graduation, he has been working within neural engineering and rehabilitation technology, and has (co)-authored two papers on neuro-rehabilitation and myoelectric control (selected
as the European geographic candidate for the EMBS09 paper competition). His research focus include signal processing of electromyography, analysis of kinematic movements, advanced prosthetic control, and neuromuscular modeling.
